I've been making bread for over forty years and, as a student, worked in two commercial bakeries. I bake whenever I have the chance (which is mainly only at weekends). On the basis that "there are no rich bakers", I like to share the fruits of my labour with my neighbours. I hope that they enjoy my bread!
The purpose of this site is to share a few pictures, recipes, methods, opinions and generally bread-related stuff with anyone who might stumble across this site.
If you've been searching for something, like the wonderful l'Hirondelle yeast, have a look at the "Baking Bits and Bobs" page for my own sources.
I was lucky enough to be invited to appear on BBC Radio 4's "Saturday Live" on 29th November 2014. Here is the link to the programme: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b04stc5v.
Have a look, also, at some of my favourite bread-related videos for your own inspiration.
For those of you who came to this site hoping to find "Crusty Dave's Bondage Shorts", here they are:
(You can find them at www.lip-service.com - but be prepared for images of clothing that wouldn't be suitable for bakers at work- however crusty they may be!)
